For Summer 2024 we have positions open for the following roles:
Lifeguard
Water Safety Instructor
Park Support Staff

Lifeguard
Appropriate conduct expected at all times (including language and behavior)
Appropriate attire (standard uniform- one piece, red lifeguard suit/trunks)
Perform all lifeguard duties, communicate rules to both adults and children, and enforce rules
Must have Waterfront Lifeguard Certification, CPR and First Aid Certifications (park will reimburse fees and can arrange classes as needed)
Pre-test for Lifeguard Course:
Be able to swim 550 yards without stopping
Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds: Starting in the water swim 20 yards; surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet retrieve a 10-pound object; Return to the surface and swim 20 yards of the back to return to starting point; Exit water without using steps or ladder.
Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
Assist with general park clean-up (raking, trash, weeding, watering flowers)
Flexible hours throughout the summer. Some weekend and evening hours required as needed
Must be 16 years old or older
Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Teaches swim lessons and communicates progress to parents
Works with the Director to schedule swim lessons
Maintains storage area of swim lessons materials and equipment
Experience with children preferred; desire to work with them required
Must have WSI Certification, CPR, and First Aid
Waterfront Lifeguard Certification is highly recommended
Additional lifeguard shifts available if certified
Must be 16 years old or older
Park Support Staff, Counselor/Junior Counselor roles may be combined if desired by applicant, as the counseling positions are only a 3 week commitment this summer.
Park Support Staff
Duties may include:
Checking in members and registering guests
Assisting with park membership forms
Serving food and beverage in the Snack Shack (cooking limited to microwave, popcorn machine, and hot dog roller)
Handing out sports equipment
Answering questions about the park including reviewing park rules with new patrons and guests
Assisting with keeping park clean both in the Guard House, bathrooms, and the general park area
Additional job duties available if desired
Assisting in water during lower level swim lessons
Acting as a counselor or junior counselor during camp weeks
Assisting in activities setup by the Activities Director including but not limited to arts and crafts, field games, and other activities
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to take orders, make change, and work a register
Flexible to work both weekdays and weekends
Customer service skills
Experience with children preferred but not required
CPR/First aid preferred but not required, can provide certification
Must be 14 years old or older
